Challenge 70.3

As some of my friends and family are already aware I have an ambition to complete a Half Iron Man.  Originally I was planning to do this next summer (2010) however putting a realistic head on it I think that I would struggle to be fit enough for such a challenge so soon.  Also to compete in an Iron Man there is certain equipment that you need (which I don’t have) and that costs money! Greenbelt 2009: Standing In The Long Now

Beer and Hymns.

Three words that would be a good way of summing up a Christian festival.  If you had to boil Greenbelt into its simplest equation I reckon Beer and Hymns would be a great tag line for it!

There was a lot of good things at Greenbelt.  In fact the more I have thought about it since leaving the more I realise that I saw some great things and that even without realising it until now, I have been challenged.

There was the usual fun of pitching the tent which we did on a grass verge barely big enough for the tent I’d taken.  Oh and we had somehow managed to forget to put the tent pegs in.  So my brother lent me his twelve pegs he had and we put the frame of the huge six man tent up.  Then immediately headed into Cheltenham town centre to find a camping shop so we could buy new pegs!  Totally ridiculous.

Actually over the course of the weekend we barely spent anytime in the tent as there was so much going on.  It was really just somewhere to sleep.

So that was how we arrived.  I figure the easiest way to tell you what I did is by breaking it down into little headings, so here goes. Read More…

The Wacky Rally – Day 2

I’m aware that my last blog was actually the first day of the rally but it was really difficult to a) find the internet and/or b) have the time to write whilst trying to travel half way across Europe.  So apologies for that.

Here I am going to break it down into sections to try and capture what went on on the rally. Read More…
